1. Terms of Use for Mindkin
   • This is a contract between you and us for use of the Mindkin system. We are four graduate students in Pittsburgh, PA. We will refer to ourselves in this contract as either "Mindkin", "we" or "our." You are an individual person. The Mindkin system, also referred to as "the system", includes any services, software, machines, support, content and other media, updates or upgrades. PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS CONTRACT LIMITS OUR LIABILITY AND WE DO NOT PROVIDE WARRANTIES FOR THE SERVICE. IT ALSO LIMITS YOUR REMEDIES.
2. How We May Modify This Contract
   • We may change this contract at any time. You must review this contract on a regular basis. You can find the most recent version of the contract at http://www.mindkin.com/disclaimerBody.htm. The changed contract is in effect immediately. If you do not agree to changes in the contract, you must stop using the Mindkin system. If you do not stop using the Mindkin system, then your use of the Mindkin system will continue under the changed contract.
3. Cookies
   • The Mindkin system is fully operational without cookies. However, if you choose the "Keep me logged in" option when logging in, a cookie will be created on your computer by Mindkin. This cookie contains only your username and encrypted password for Mindkin and will be destroyed upon logging out of the system. If you do not choose the "Keep me logged in" option, no cookies will be created.
4. Thoughts
   • Thoughts in the Mindkin system refers to text messages submitted by registered users of the system to be displayed to all other users (including guests) of the Mindkin system on the Mindkin website.
   • The thoughts in the system are posted by other users, and as such, we are not responsible for the posted content in the system. We, however, reserve the right to remove thoughts which we deem inappropriate though we have no duty to do so.
   • You, as the user of the system, agree not to publish thoughts of explicit sexual nature or other illegal content; or encouraging illegal behavior.
   • Furthermore, Mindkin claims ownership of the thoughts and content posted by users. We reserve the right to use any of the posted thoughts in publications as example of uses of the system without reimbursement to the users who submitted the thoughts. In such cases we will not reveal the user’s name, picture or ID.
5. Usage Statistics
   • Usage statistics will be collected and published in publications without personally identifiable information. This includes, but is not limited to, the amount of time spent and frequency of visits to the Mindkin system, the frequency of different activities (e.g. marking thoughts as "like" or "dislike", submitting new thoughts) available on the system, and the type of thoughts that garner the most activity from other users. This aggregated and anonymized usage data without personally identifiable information may also be used to improve the Mindkin system.
6. Registration and Service
   • Registration is required in order to take full advantage of the services provided by the Mindkin system. Both guests and registered users must be over the age of 13 to use Mindkin. Registered users who are deemed to be younger may get their accounts revoked.
   • We may store the emails used in requesting invitations to join the system, and the mapping from these emails to the registered usernames.
   • Mindkin is a free service though we may contact you if that changes.
7. Privacy
   • Information submitted in the registration (specifically chosen username, password, email address, and gender) is kept in a database and not shared with other users of the system or any third parties with the exception mentioned in the following statement. If a picture is associated with the user’s account it is stored on our web server.
   • Username, email and submitted pictures may be shared with other users only according to the rules of game, and your use of this Web site constitutes your explicit, freely given permission to do so.
   • No personal information will be shared with 3rd parties.
8. Liability
   • Creators, maintainers and copyright owners of Mindkin assume no responsibility for any undesirable experience users may have during their usage of the site, or for any liability or losses incurred by users.
9. Copyright and other Intellectual Property
   • By using this site you acknowledge that the intellectual property in the Mindkin system and software belongs solely to the creators of this site and their licensors. Mindkin claims ownership of the thoughts and content posted by users. We may have various intellectual property rights associated with and protecting this web site. We grant you a limited, revocable license to use the Mindkin web site, but our providing you with access to this service does not give you any other license to our intellectual property. For example, you may not copy any portion of this web site. Accordingly, you agree that you will not create a website of similar look or feel, nor will you create a game based on a similar premise. Any rights not expressly granted herein are reserved.
